In 1984, it was decided to focus our marketing on the transportation industry because it was one of the fastest growing segments in this country's economy. Significant differences were discovered in the insurance needs of local truckers and interstate operators, namely the Federal Highway Department's and Department of Transportation's requirements for a number of permit filings, which included higher liability limits ranging from $750,000 to $5,000,000 per occurrence for some hazardous cargos. Also, issues of fuel tax filings and broker bonds prompted us to focus on commercial trucking companies. While we do serve the needs of local and intermediate truckers, our specialty has become the long-haul truckers.

We have, from time to time, worked closely with the filing and permit service agents to whom the truckers turn when communication and paperwork with federal and state agencies need to be done.
